Is H-E-B facing a Hill Country Fare bread roll shortage this holiday season? The beloved (and cheap) $1.33, twelve-count brown-n-serve bread roll packs have become a staple side at many a Thanksgiving table in San Antonio. After all, all you have to do is brush them with butter or olive oil, stick them in the oven at 425 degrees for 7-10 minutes, and voila — perfectly toasted rolls.
Some H-E-B shoppers feared the worst when fellow San Antonians posted their prized bread rolls online, joking about selling them to the highest bidder. So, is the bread roll shortage fact or fiction? We reached out to H-E-B for conclusive answers.

Is there a shortage of Hill Country Fare bread rolls?
Turns out you can't believe everything you see on the internet. H-E-B spokesperson Valentino Lucio confirmed to MySA that H-E-B is, in fact, fully stocked with bread for the holiday season.

Lucio added that H-E-B stores across the city were in "good supply for the holiday." He also made sure to note that each H-E-B sells a variety of bread rolls, in addition to the beloved Hill Country Fare bread packs.

There's fresh rolls baked daily at every H-E-B bakery, in addition to name brand rolls sold in the bread aisle.
Is H-E-B open on Thanksgiving?
H-E-B will be open on Thanksgiving day — albeit with limited hours. You can purchase your own pack of bread rolls on the holiday from 6 a.m. to noon, or pick them up curbside from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
