Huge congrats to Jennifer Aniston, who finds herself “in a really peaceful place” after overcoming her terror of bread. Dinner rolls, baguettes, ciabattas, sourdough in all its forms — no longer will she live in fear of loaves.
The actor admitted to People that some other lifestyle factors — sunsets; daily meditation; journaling; yoga; the collagen supplement she was maybe there to plug — have also played a role in achieving internal bliss. “I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs,” she said. Mhm, what else?
“[I] started to give myself a break, allowing [my]self to have pasta, a sandwich,” she added. “Everyone’s very afraid of the bread basket, and I’m no longer afraid. As long as it’s all done in moderation.”
While I am not sure I would go so far as to implicate “everyone” in this glutinous dread, I nonetheless commend Aniston, because phobias can take years to get over. Instagram must have been a very scary space for her during quarantine. Bread’s been everywhere, but maybe all that exposure helped her work through the fear. I have no idea, though after all these years of being hounded by tabloids about the state of her womb, I am happy for her to have achieved inner peace, however it happened. Personally, I bet no longer living with a ghost helps a lot, but we will go with bread.
