A new sandwich shop is coming to South Jersey, and it’s kind of a big dill.
Elsie’s Pickles, the viral deli known for putting sandwiches not on bread but rather on giant hollowed out pickles, has announced its second location. A new shop in Northfield will accompany its flagship Haddon Township restaurant sometime in 2021.
“Over the next 90 days our Elsie’s team will be working around the clock to open a second location to serve the shore communities,” the shop said as it announced the news on Instagram. “We are so excited to bring them to the shore and to pamper guests with our family recipes and tradition.”
Elsie’s doesn’t just make pickle sandwiches — they make the pickles the sandwiches go on as well. They do sandwiches as well as wraps — with thin slices of pickles that look more like sushi than your typical wrap. Elsie’s also sells its own bloody Mary mix and pickle juice, and pickle shot glasses that are perfect for pickleback shots.
The pickle sandwiches are perfect for anyone looking to cut down on carbs or if you simply love pickles — though the bun-less briny meals are definitely on the salty side.
