TikTok users have become notorious for creating the wildest, most outlandish recipes reportedly with the most positive and tasty outcomes. Recently, the platform has been going crazy over its newest obsession – “ice cream bread.”

That’s right, ice cream bread, out of all things to try your hand at making!

What is Ice cream bread?

Well, according to Mashed, it’s bread made from ice cream, and there’s two ingredients: ice cream and self-rising flour.

If you’d like to try making this mouthwatering bread on your own, the site reports combining one pint of (mostly melted) ice cream in your favorite flavor and one-and-a-half cups of self-rising flour. Stir to combine, then pour into a loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

According to The Kitchn, the recipe originated in a 2005 issue of Southern Living and isn’t exactly a new one. But the recipe has been brought back and has gained steam, thanks to TikTok.

The trend is dubbed as #icecreambread and its popularity has drawn in 30.7 billion views on TikTok, (at the time of publication).

Even though Ice cream bread is exactly as it sounds – a loaf of bread made of ice cream – The Spruce Eats recommends using full-flat, regular ice cream, and making sure that it is melted and smooth before mixing it with self-rising flour.

Additionally, Ben & Jerry’s warns to let the ice cream melt naturally instead of using the microwave. This is because the microwave can change the molecular texture of the ice cream.
