Kristin L. Brill
Kristin L. Brill, MD, has been named enterprise director of breast oncology at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center — Jefferson Health.
Brill, a breast surgeon, has extensive experience treating patients with malignant and benign disease.
Her areas of expertise include nipple-sparing mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery, preventive mastectomy, reconstruction, accelerated partial breast radiation, device placement and breast cancer clinical trials.
“Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center has a long tradition of excellence in cancer care, research and innovation, providing unparalleled cancer treatment in our region and beyond,” Brill said in a press release. “Our goal is to provide the same high-quality services across multiple Jefferson locations, with the mission of improving lives and cancer outcomes.”
Brill previously served as head of the division of breast surgery and director of Janet Knowles Breast Cancer Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, as well as assistant professor of surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
She also directed the breast surgical oncology fellowship at Cooper Medical School and was an adjunct assistant professor in the department of surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
“She is an exceptional breast oncologist who is dedicated to increasing access to the most advanced surgical breast care and will lead Jefferson in developing the next set of technological breakthroughs for breast cancer patients,” Karen E. Knudsen, MBA, PhD, executive vice president of oncology services and enterprise director of Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, said in the release. “Dr. Brill’s recruitment is a key component of the [cancer center’s] mission to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families though innovation, compassion and discovery.”
