Born of Bread Announced by WildArts
Developer WildArts Studio is baking up Born of Bread, a bread-based RPG inspired by the Paper Mario series. Players will control Loaf, a flour golem tasked with saving the world from destructive beings from another age.
To save the world, Loaf will have to explore his 2.5D world, meet new allies, and learn new abilities to help him complete his quest. Much like the Paper Mario series, combat has an action component. Attacks are accompanied by timed button presses that make them more effective. For a bit more info on the game, here is the summary from the Born of Bread Steam page:
A Sentient Bread on a Quest
Play as a flour golem who possesses a never-ending childlike wonder and a set of odd abilities in this 2.5 adventure game! Explore the different regions of a wonderful world ripe with mysteries and team up with a colorful cast of fleshed-out characters. With the help of your buddies, face off against menacing and weird baddies and engage in a fun and quirky turn-based combat system inspired by the Paper Mario franchise. To successfully land an attack, succeed the required button prompt and make sure you know what your enemy is weak or resistant against! Skip the enemy’s turn by defending and, with proper timing, regain Will Points, an attribute essential to perform your attacks!
Born of Bread will release for PC via Steam, but no official release date has been announced yet.
