QUINCY (WGEM) -- The Strike Out Breast Cancer event was held at the Tangerine Bowl and Spare Time Sports Bar Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Bowlers came from across the Tri-States and as far away as Springfield, Illinois, and St. Louis.

The event has raised over $70,000 since 2010 for low income women battling breast cancer.

Participants were draped in pink as they bowled, with several of them rolling strike after strike.

One participant, Alyson Tappe, said this event is important to her because it is a way to honor her mom.

"This is my first year bowling in it. My mom passed away from breast cancer in 2019. She bowled for years in Quincy, and went to nationals and a state tournament every year. I'll never be half the bowler she was but now I bowl with all of her friends so it's good to be out here," she said.

All proceeds from the event go to the Blessing Breast Center.
