For meat lovers, it's hard to imagine what could be better than a half-pound steak burger, right? Well, one beloved steakhouse chain just up-leveled their bread game to make their burgers even more mouth-watering. Here's what's cooking at a roadhouse with 136 locations in 23 states.
The Southern steakhouse chain, Logan's Roadhouse, says their scratch-made yeast rolls have become a brand icon since the chain's inception in 1991. Now, Logan's has announced that they're introducing made-from-scratch buns from the legendary yeast roll recipe, which they say will bring "the same delicious flavor and taste in every bite" of their half-pound steak burgers and sandwiches.

What inspired this boost to their bread? "At Logan's, we listen to our guests' feedback, and we respond with one-of-a-kind creations we know they'll love," said Logan's Roadhouse Senior Vice President of Operations, Lewis Campbell. "We know our rolls are a staple of the Roadhouse experience, and we wanted to find a way to use them to enhance our everyday menu offerings. This new innovation for our half-pound steak burgers and sandwiches . . . is just another example of Logan's commitment to providing the best guest experience we can."
Some food bloggers have attempted copycat recipes for Logan's buns with ingredients ranging from honey and butter to milk powder and dry yeast. In any case, online chatter suggests that for a lot of Logan's fans, the Roadhouse rolls are the real reason a lot of patrons frequent the brand.
While a sweet, warm bun around one of Logan's three half-pound burgers or five Roadhouse sandwiches sounds pretty outstanding, keep in mind that a single Logan's bun with butter clocks in around 200 calories. This adds about 25% more calories to Logan's Roadhouse burger and sandwich offerings, which average over 800 calories each (that's minus the 359-calorie Mesquite Grilled Chicken Sandwich).
